You're always tellin' me what to do, What to say, how to think, when to move Well, let me just say this about that, I don't need good lovin' that bad. You always want to run the show, But there's something you oughta know Girl, my love is slippin' through your hands I don't need good lovin' that bad. I don't need good lovin' that bad, I don't need good lovin' that bad, You might be the best lover that I've ever had You might be the best lover that I've ever had But I don't need good lovin' that bad. you're always trying to rock my boat push me and pull me till I want to let go That's how love can make a man go mad I don't need good lovin' that bad you always treat me like I'm blind don't want to give me any more of your time You're always looking for your next man I don't need good lovin' that bad I don't need good lovin' that bad, I don't need good lovin' that bad, You might be the best lover that I've ever had You might be the best lover that I've ever had But I don't need good lovin' that bad. I don't need it, don't see it but baby, you better believe it There's a better woman waiting out there for me that's why I'm setting you free to hell with you baby You're always tellin' me what to do, What to say, how to think, when to move... Well, let me just say this about that, I don't need good lovin' that bad. I don't need good lovin' that bad, I don't need good lovin' that bad, You might be the best lover that I've ever had You might be the best lover that I've ever had But I don't need good lovin' that bad.

I don’t have to make up stories the truth is hard enough to believe I thought you were waiting for me you were waiting for the right time to leave I’m just a cockeyed optimist judging by all the signs I missed when the plot began to twist now that I think about it, now that I think about it I was flying you weren’t even trying what was all my effort worth you brought me down to earth, down to earth It takes two to make a story competing versions of the truth but I’ve got nothing to bounce off of you were obviously in it just for you Looking back, as I recall every time I tried to roll the ball you threw up another wall now that I think about it, now that I think about it CHORUS you brought me down to earth you got me down to earth you pulled me down to earth, you shot me down to earth now my memories insist on reliving every sign I missed when the plot, when the plot began to twist now that I think about it, now that I think about it CHORUS

You got what you wanted You're finally alone Now you're free to go on with all your plans I'll rise above it Try not to let it show That my world has just slipped through my hands chorus: By this time tomorrow I'll be miles away Away from the sorrow Away from the pain I'll probably miss you Even though I won't know why By this time tomorrow I'm gonna be alright We found love and lost it Made every mistake Somehow we thought forever’d never end We fought it and thought it Like we could make it stay But a lie is never easy to defend repeat chorus: The good 'ol Days.. are what make Lovers hold onto the night And that's why...I couldn't say goodbye In this morning light But I know I'll be fine repeat chorus:

Why do you lead me on, Just to let me down, Why can’t you just come out and say, you don’t want me around, Why do you keep making plans, If you’re just gonna cancel them, There’s nothing in the world more annoying than a girl that’s fakin’, Verse 2 Why don’t you let me go, Why do you hold on, Why are you wasting our time and my minutes on my telephone, Well I gotta plan, This is one you can stick to, Don’t make any plans with me, I won’t make any with you Chorus (harmonize if possible) What do you want, What do you need, Why do you keep, Playing games with me, What do you want from me, Is this all just a game, Well if it’s all the same, Don’t play with me again,

Put me down for life.... Put me down for life Let me fight your fight Let me right your wrongs Let me be your strong turn up the lights... Put me down for life I want to be the one for you Help you do what you do I can be your stand up guy Look you right between the eyes I'm right there when you need me the truth is love so believe me don't fight your fighter Put me down for life chorus when the demons and the dragons line up to give you hell when everyone around you has failed to answer the bell Just point me in the right direction... that you need that miracle done cause this guy ...wants to be the one... chorus

You're down on your knees Yeah, that's how it seems I know what you're goin' through It's a down dirty shame But tell me who ain't had the blues? You're sad and you're lonely But you ain't the only One it's ever happened to Maybe it's fate But tell me who ain't had the blues? Who ain't had the blues? Who ain't had the blues? I don't know how you missed the news Maybe it's your turn to lose We've all been in those shoes Tell me who ain't had the blues? You feel like a joke Love runs like a ghost it ain't even gonna tell you boo What can you say tell me who ain’t had the blues So I guess you just joined the club Livin' this life and playing the games of love You roll the dice, but you don't win then you do it all over again You walk through the dark Just to see a spark In the hope of something new Yes, it’s all just a game But tell me who ain’t had the blues

I can take pretty much everything A man can dish out Another testosterone driven son of a bitch With a drunk-ass wise-ass mouth I saw him stumblin’ my direction bumping tables along the way My girlfriends headed towards the powder room Before he could have his say he put one boot up on an empty chair He said, “What’s happenin’ girl” I just looked up and didn’t say a word His beer breath filled my world He said, “Hey, I’m talkin’ to you, sister. What’sa matter cat got your tongue? Sittin’ there with them veiny legs …” That was enough for her … she was done … (Chorus) she said, “You lost me at veiny” And she kicked out his chair prop He had a stupid expression on his face When to the floor he dropped I do believe he lost a tooth When the table passed him by And if he wakes up, she’ll remind him again with a beer mug in the eye (Verse) You know a fool never learns their lesson And this dude was the pride of fools I seen him grinnin’ round the bar the next week with a gap between his pearls But he best keep his distance Cause he done crossed the line This country gal has had her fill she'd be glad to hit him one more time (Chorus) She said You lost me at veiny (sing it with me …) And she whacked him with her beer mug (whooo-hooo) another stupid expression (looked something like this …) on his face as he dropped (like a sack of … somethin’) I do believe he lost another tooth (we call him smiley now) When she hit him with the glass And if he wakes up, she’ll remind him again (accentuated musical pause) she'll put a high heel up his ass

there's still a cross on the highway Where we ran off the road There was a dream I just can't face a walk I can not go Tears won't make it better Being better won't change that night So pour more of that something that comes on the rocks...and makes the night stop.. Makes the ghost go onto bed..and eases this old head Don't tell me tomorrow... I've never made it through that night Don't tell me tomorrow... my darkness will never see the light this does not fade, like a memory Time they say has got some moves Once a good love has gone to waste they say the pain goes down so smooth Tears won't make it better Being better won't change that night So pour more of that something that comes on the rocks... and makes the night stop... Makes the ghost go onto bed... and eases this old head Don't tell me tomorrow... I've never made it through that night Don't tell me tomorrow... my darkness will never see the light I'm never going back to that time and place... but some of me has never left... to this day Tears won't make it better Being better won't change that night So pour more of that something that comes on the rocks... and makes the night stop... Makes the ghost go onto bed... and eases this old head Don't tell me tomorrow... I've never made it through that night Don't tell me tomorrow... my darkness will never see the light

Well I've played for paupers And I've played for royalty I've played for gold and silver most times I play for free Its fun to sing a hit song maybe once or twice But the same songs every night, Brother that ain't nice So don't ask me to play black knight Or old time rock and roll You can take your long training running, it don't move my soul Stick your bad moon rising Where the sun don't shine And the next time I hear FREEBIRRRD! I might just commit a crime I wanna entertain you Please don't get me wrong Did I ever mention I write my own songs I know you wanna dance and maybe sing along But would it hurt you now and then to hear a different song So Don't ask me to sing anything Written by jimmy buffet Bob Seger or the eagles Brother you can stuff it I don't come from Alabama That sweet home isn't mine And the next time I hear FREEBIRRRD! I might just commit a crime I’m willin to sing willin But I wont do cocaine Peggy Sue and Annie's Song Make me want to fly a plane If You call out “Play Skynyrd” I’ll take3 steps towards the door No Please don’t ever ask me to Play FREEBIRRDD Any More!

about

As implied by the title, these are songs I've written with other writers/musicians. All instruments/vocals by me except on Tired Of Your Games (on which I play zero instruments), Down To Earth (on which I also play zero instruments AND sing zero background vocals) and You Lost Me At Veiny (on which every thing is me except for Duane's vocal interjections near the end).
