Original demo. Another FAWM challenge was song “morphing”, where you take half of a song someone else wrote and add a half of your own. How you define “half” is up to you. Then someone else does the same to your song… repeat 8 times or so, and hilarity ensues. So I have to credit Carley Baer on this, as the first verse and the title are lifted from her song, as well as the verse chord progression, which I think she lifted from the one before her. Anyway, this is what happened…
lyrics
Don't try to make conversation
don't look me in the eye
if you say anything to me
don't get upset when I don't reply
and don't ask me why, cause
I am a stranger
I am a stranger
I am a stranger
in a strange land
Don't pretend that you know me
and don't act like you care
it's probably better for both of us
if you just act like I'm not there
cause I'm not anywhere
I am a stranger
I am a stranger
I am a stranger
in a strange land
Never again
never again
Don't believe you'll convince me
where so many have tried
I built a fortress around me
no one else will ever get inside
you'll be denied, cause
I am a stranger
I am a stranger
I am a stranger
in a strange land
